Walt Disney Animation Studios, headquartered at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California, produces animated feature films and television specials by combining masterful artistry and storytelling with ground breaking technology. The studios started in 1923 in a small office in Los Angeles, this is where Walt Disney and his brother Roy produced a collection of short animated films called the ALICE COMEDIES. Within in a month of starting the company they had relocated to a larger office/studio complex. In 1929 the studio was dedicated to production of short films until 1934 where it expanded into a feature production company. In 1983 Walt Disney named their studio “Walt Disney Company”.  In 2006 the Walt Disney Company took on the name of “The Walt Disney Animation Studios” alongside Pixar animation studios also owned by the company.

The animation studio was soon recognised as it developed its techniques and the studio became famous for its art of story boarding, which is now a global technique used in both animated and live action film making. The company also have some of the world’s well known animated characters some being – Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Pluto which are all part of Disney’s advertisement.

Walt Disney Animation studio are managed by Edwin Catmull (the president) and John Lasseter (manager of Pixar), the company continue to produce animated features using both story boarding and computer generated products. Disney next feature to be released is “The Good Dinosaur” which is set for release November 2015.
Walt Disney Animation studios produced and created the first fully animated feature film, Snow white and the seven dwarfs was released in 1937 and Walt Disney Animation has the title of the academy award winning feature film Frozen which was released in 2013.
